Boiling at the Tuppers

Boiling at the Tuppers

Ken Tupper, Owner/Operator and I (Jean Tupper) have been NYSMPA members since 1992, as well as St. Lawrence County members.

Allen & Kevin Tupper, our two sons, help in the operation.

Maple syrup, cream, sugar, and granulated sugar are available year round.

This maple business started in 1992 after the sugar bush had been idle for thirty-five years located in Town of Pierrepont, having built a new sugar house in the woods. Approximately six years later we built a sugar house behind our existing pole barn to facilitate our operation with the means of electricity.  We have approximately 1,200 taps on pipeline with vacuum; boiling on a 3×10 evaporator, with a steam away.

We were one of the host maple sugar makers for the 2006 State Maple Tour headquartered in Potsdam, NY. We  were honored with the 2008 Maple Producers of the Year in St. Lawrence County in February, 2009.

HOW TO FIND US:  We are located on State Route 68, nine miles East of Canton, NY toward Colton, NY on the left side of the highway (with a maple syrup sign by the driveway).

Jean’s maple candy is melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Her cream is out of this world; I like it on a warm English Muffin with a thin layer of peanut butter then a thin layer of maple cream!! The syrup from Tupper’s Hilltop operation has ended up in many states throughout the USA.

What a great website – we’ll be sure to visit. I love maple syrup and candy.

I have had the maple syrup which is of course
delicious. However, the maple sugar candy is
absolutely out of this world. The candy is very
    creamy and smooth not granular.

I have purchased and/or received as gifts many of the Tuppers’ maple products. They are of connsistent excellent quality. The maple candy is my favorite.

Dad, Mom & my brothers are gearing up for another season. Of course, they also have help from Grandchildren & Gus “the bus.” The work begins in February and won’t stop until April – so I know where I’ll find them. Looking forward to warm syrup straight from the canner.
